Surron Hyper Bee — Phoenix Owner’s Complete Service Guide

The Surron Hyper Bee is engineered for precision. With a 5 kW PMSM motor, 50.4V/25Ah battery, and a lightweight 83.8 lb frame, it’s one of the most capable electric off-road bikes on the market. But precision engineering demands precision maintenance.

This guide covers everything Phoenix Hyper Bee owners need to keep their bike running at peak performance.

Hyper Bee Key Specs

Spec Value
Motor 5 kW PMSM
Battery 50.4V/25Ah Lithium-ion
Torque 159 Nm at wheel
Top Speed 55 km/h
Weight 83.8 lbs

Break-In Period (First 300 Miles)

  • Check all fasteners weekly — The Hyper Bee’s lightweight frame vibrates at high RPMs. Check axle nuts, handlebar clamps, and swingarm pivot.
  • Chain adjustment every 100 miles — New chains stretch during break-in.
  • Battery break-in — Keep 20%-80% charge for the first 5 cycles.
  • Brake bed-in — 20-30 moderate stops to seat the hydraulic disc pads.

30-Hour Service (Every 400 Miles)

Drivetrain

  • Chain cleaning and lubrication — Every 150 miles in Phoenix dust conditions.
  • Sprocket inspection — Check for hooked or worn teeth.
  • Gearbox oil level — Check and top off as needed.

Brakes & Suspension

  • Brake pad thickness — Phoenix heat and dust wear pads faster. Replace below 3mm.
  • Fork seal inspection — Check for oil leaks after dusty rides.
  • Shock linkage bolts — Torque check. Loose suspension = dangerous handling.

Electrical

  • Controller cooling fins — Keep clean. The Hyper Bee’s controller runs hot.
  • Battery terminal connections — Clean and tighten.
  • Throttle response check — Should be smooth across all 4 riding modes.

60-Hour Service (Every 800 Miles)

Everything from the 30-hour service, plus brake fluid flush, gearbox oil change, wheel bearing inspection, steering head bearing check, and battery capacity test.

Phoenix Battery Care

  • Never charge above 100°F — Phoenix garage heat is the #1 battery killer.
  • Store at 40-60% charge if not riding for 2+ weeks.
  • Keep charge port clean and dry — Dust causes corrosion.
  • Use only the OEM charger — Third-party chargers can damage the BMS.
